Crockpot Chicken Recipes

Crockpot chicken recipes are so versatile, because chicken has such a neutral flavor that you can substitute ingredients based on whatever you have on hand. This is a great way to use up leftovers and still make a really tasty meal!

Lots of times I have my crockpot cooking whole chicken, other times it's frozen chicken thighs or drumsticks. And chicken breasts never come out dry when braised in a slow cooker.

One thing to bear in mind about cooking chicken in a crockpot is that the skin will not get crispy or brown. As far as I am concerned that's a pretty minor thing, but if you prefer your chicken skin browned and crispy, you can always use a good heavy pan to sear the skin (for individual pieces) or the oven at a high temperature for a short time (for a whole chicken). Just remember to do this before you put the chicken in the crockpot!
